Saw the Motor Kings in tiny Centennial, Wyoming while on a Harley outing a while back. The venue is one of my favorite haunts and it was kind of like suddenly finding a Ferrari Testarossa in your garage. I was in awe at the container that bad-ass voice comes in. Motor Kings Rock.

Hi everyone! We are slowly making our way through Chicago...glad we don't have this traffic in SF!!! The tour has been a blast, and we have made so many wonderful new friends along the way. Special thanks to Bruce, Lisa, Brett and Luke Lirones for your incredible hospitality and also to the new "Zebra Mussel Shoals Horns" for jamming with us. What a blast.
We are heading home tomorrow, so we hope to see you soon!

To the drummer:
We met you at the campground at Chumas, New Mexico ( I think that was the name of the town.). You spoke about playing at Eagles at Minster, Ohio in the 1950's.
I just want to let you know we checked out your website. I am glad for you that you are enjoying your music.
Best wishes.

Hi All,
Well we're in Rochester at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Great rooms and we perform in a couple of hours. Julie and Tom did a radio interview this morning with Maceo Parker. It went well and we're excited about the upcoming show. Stay tuned...There's more to come.

Well, we played to a packed house in Dayton last night. Many old friends and relatives were on hand. On the road early to Rochester today; eight total on board. Everyone's a little tired from the show and 6 hours sleep but none the worse for wear. We hope to pull into Rochester this evening. Big day tomorrow, we'll be on the radio at WCMF in Rochester tomorrow morning for an interview around 10AM EDT (8AM in New Mexico) I think you can catch us on the net; again, not sure of the exact time, so you may want to tune in around 9EDT. That's all from the road, best wishes to all,

Hi there,
Fun to read your "blog" about the east coast trip. Your road trips in an RV start like my road trips in an RV...blown tires. Sigh. One reason I no longer have an RV. Here's to improved fortune as you go.
I was in OK City about a month ago and checked out teh Rte 66 Roadhouse for you. Yes, smoky...but a good blues house. Hope you had a good crowd.
Best of luck with the remainder of your trip and looking forward to seeing you back at El Farol sometime soon.

You guys made my 50th birthday party, at Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos, one of the most memorable times of my life!!! It has been a year and a half since the party and I remember your performance like it was just yesterday. You didn't charge us an arm and a leg to play for us, which is nice because we are not rich people. I really appreciate that.
I just bought your new CD and a tee shirt, which I will wear proudly.
I wish that I could do more to thank you for the incredible memory that you helped to create for me. I have hopes that when you guys are all rich and famous, that I would still be able to have you come and play for my 60th birthday party. As much as I hate to admit it, it is not all that far away.
I hope, now that I am on your e-mail list, that you will let me know when you will be playing in the Los Alamos area again so I can get to see you again soon.
I sure was hoping to see you in the Telluride Blues and Brews line up this year. Maybe I will just run into you in the crowd huh?
Keep up the great work. You guys are awesome!!

WOW! You guys are fabulous - just listened to you for the first time since I heard Julie was pursuing her dream! You rock! You're great and I cannot wait to get your songs and put them on my iPod! Your music makes me want to move - heck, I'm sitting here grooving right now and the music isn't playing. It stays with you - you know, kinda connects with your soul and keeps you alive! Keep on!

I met Julie, Tom & the band in Durango in August. In one word, POWERFUL! This band has the sound that blues music fans - especially hard core bikers love. Hope to see 'em at more mc rallies. Their positive energy really gets the crowd dancin!

Been there, done that, got the CD.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet you at La Fonda. You are absolutely great down-to-earth folks. We were awed by your talent and only wish we could have seen you at another venue where you could have cranked it up a bit. Nonetheless, the sound was mixed excellently and despite a relatively acoustically dead La Fonda lounge, your music shined through.
We could tell Julie's arm was hurting, but she persevered and never let on - what a trooper!
We purchased "Durango Tango" and tried to wear it out on the way back to AZ (didn't work 'cause it's playing in our home right now).
If there's any justice in this world, you'll end up with a BIG recording contact and make tons of $$$. Thanks for making our night in Santa Fe. PLEASE keep producing and releasing more music. We'll be waiting.
PS - Hope the arm mends fast, Julie.

Julie Stewart and The MotorKings where one of 32 bands at the Havasu RockFest. To this day I still get asked about the band. Their energy, showmanship and awesome sound certainly kept the crowd on their feet. This group in my opinion is one step away from hitting the big time. It was a pleasure having them at our event and we welcome them back for all future events.

Hey Rob,
Nice pics on the HS reunion site. Dude I say you're looking more like Frampton every day! I too seem to recall that night in K's basement playing "F$#@(*G the Dog"! Now THOSE were the blues!! OPagan is only laughing about it still because he's dealing with flashbacks.
Band sounds excellent! Come to NY/NJ, there's TONS of excellent music fests out here. (Although we're no longer recommending the side tours of NYC as part of your final approach into Tetorborough airport.) Nice work on the B3....THEE king of blues keyboards! (but a bitch to haul)

Lake Havasu ROCKFEST...WOW! I am so impressed. When Julie came out and started singing, my 11 year old son looks at her and says,"That isn't right"...As in, that wonderful voice coming out of that tiny, beautiful woman! Who would of thought by looking at her that such a powerful voice would come out of her mouth. Max really likes Julie Stewart and the Motor Kings. You have 2 new fans!!! Like I said....WOW!!!
And to TOM...Thank-you for the T-shirt for MAX. He slept in it and is wearing it again today...X's

Had the fun privilege of hearing you in Durango this past weekend. Great fun - especially during the song that had lyrics along the line of "don't want to see this again" and the two fellows emoting on the dance floor. My friend and I were in the little balcony area behind you, we laughed/smiled so hard/long that our heads hurt! I was very impressed, Julie, on how you attempted to maintain your composure. I'm sure you've experienced more of that!
Rob, I always seem to hear/feel the bass line before I listen to lead. We talked briefly between songs, we're the two from Albuquerque. No, she's not my daughter - we work together and have become good friends.
Had to "google" to find you - thought Rod said you were "Julie Stuart and the Boner Kings", at least I heard the Julie Stuart part...
We'll be at the Abq. Zoo on the 25th since another trip to Durango is not planned at the moment.
Take good care to all of you. Glad I found you - great website. Go BoSox!

Hi Rod,
I was looking around for you on the web. I guess I didn't know that the guitar warehouse was merely a front and your real life lay elsewhere. You never mentioned your gigs in any detail. I'm glad to see you still at it and making some waves out west. I still have Craig's old strat from the manchester store. Do you recall what mods he made besides the neck? Best to you and thanks for all your kindnesses over the years. Sorry you aren't in Portsmouth to drop in on but I'm sure you're glad to be elsewhere. Yours still in NH,
